Buttermere is a handmade, hand shaped felt vase, created with natural fibres, using a traditional wet felting method over a resist. The colours and textures of the Lake District are reflected in this original piece, designed to stand alone as a tactile piece of textile art. All my handmade felt vessels can be used to display flowers or seed heads too. Simply place a recycled jam jar or cut down plastic bottle inside to hold water, then fill with your favourite blooms. I chose daffodils here as a nod to Cumbrian poet William Wordsworth who was born nearby to Buttermere. This one of a kind felt vase measures approximately 22cm wide x 19cm high.
